stubborn earth

when the earth cracks and air meets lava, crystallization occurs
there, gems will bloom

had i known that
id have let breeze meet my rotten rolling insides
sooner than i did, under the dark june sky
oh id have shared more than just a whisper, without it being veiled and in between cracks of disapproving starlight
of know me, by me be known, turn my skin to stone
take my filthy bones taste my soot and stay
have me have me have me
oh and do it before the day breaks and the sun finds out that ive learned your name
before the moon riots and shrieks through tides and tidal waves

something so simple, why hadn’t i known you yet
stubborn earth, only letting in through a crack
something so pleasant, please forgive my ignorance
for not seeing the freedom of the air, all its magnificence
