Self-Driver

Rolling fat
winter tires
pressed on asphalt
pancaking
trash on a plate
that was my dinner
I never ate

The cabin is locked
but that door
is breaking from the middle out
the handle has no use
for passing through
when it could happen anytime

jumping out
of a self-driving car
with taxes to pay
because I just wish it wasn’t self-driving

I don’t tell it where to go
It doesn’t ask
so that’s where it takes me
rain and sun
windows and all
on a river of food
