The grand door shuffled,
And squeaked open,
Even as the universe tried to tug it shut.
And a flash flood of dancing light emerged.
From the narrowest entry,
A thousands tongues arose.
Each reaching new heights to tempt the flowing air,
In a myriad of yellow, red and orange flickers.
And the moths across its spotted map,
Now feels the radiant heat.
Yet is drawn to embrace the flame,
To be burned onto the light.
And in this light, he saw his last,
The most beautiful reflection in the world,
Your beauty attested to by the purity of the flame.
Your light against the wide nothingness of this blue universe.
