Fall Foliage

The wind whirls upward
Taking with it many fallen leaves,
Swirling and twirling them
In the air,
Displaying their varied colors
Then hurling them suddenly
To the ground,
Only to whip them up again
Ripping more leaves from trees,
Twisting and tangling them,
Allowing them to set sail
On air currents,
Then disrupting their lull
In a free fall
To earth.
