Feminism

Alas! Womanhood
they suffer to get what is good
Not that it’s to their benefit
but it’s to keep their household fit
The unique part of the pair
that isn’t usually treated fair
After toiling with her foetus for 9 months
she still labours to cater for it for about 12 months

She sells most of her wrapper
just to make her little one’s future brighter
In her bosom lies comfort
away from the agony of this wicked world
Under her caring arms
does the oppressed child find no harm

She is mostly a victim of human trafficking
and her travails are never ending
An object of brutality
as she is being oppressed under captivity
She suffers in deep sorrows
as tragic pains pierce into her bone marrows

She is often an object of sexual violence
no isn’t an option to her oppressor’s inhumanity
Then when her oppressor is in clover
she is then insulted to being a free giver
After which she suffers the pain in shame
while her oppressor benefits the gain which he obtained
Dying in grief and agony
is her precious life shattered from its harmony

The parliamentary feminity
should war against violence with great fidelity
We need a redesign
one aberrant from this cruel and heartless style
We need a great change
where one can proudly say she is a happy dame
United, we win this fight
only then shall we resound our victory with delight

O thou Woman
stand up and fight for thy freedom
Stop being like a villein
release thyself from the dungeon of oppression
Turn thy dreams to reality
because they are usually of great help to the society
Never be a slave to fear
because that’s the root of despair

Be brave like Queen Amina
who stood her ground and maintained her stamina
Survived through the thorns
and finally made the tough battle to be won
She was not distracted
but was always devoted and committed
Though her soul rests in the cemetery
unforgotten in our hearts, will she ever be an epitome of bravery.
