My name is Charity Stewart, and I am known as the poetic voice of the streets. I'm an author, hostess, and poet. I grew up in the Chicagoland area, a rough city full of violence, crimes,
pain, racism, low education, and fewer resources. I have been writing
poetry since the first grade. I won my first poetry contest back in 1996.
My dad always told me that I was a poet, and I didn’t know it. My poetry tells my life’s story about my struggles and reach out to those
dealing with depression, anxiety, addiction, injustice, racism, financial
problems, loneliness, suicidal ideation, grief, toxic relationships, and
inner struggles. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope my poems are a voice of hope and encouragement for those struggling with different obstacles and for the streets. No matter what you are
going through, you are not alone!
