Grandmother

There's so many things I could say about you,
I would never be able to tell them all, to a Gran
mother as loving as you.

I remember when you held
me in your arms and sang Grandma's
little girl, it still echoes to me
with charm I never felt so safe
and secure,

How you use to curl my hair
leaving ringlets galore everywhere.

The walks we use to take, the cookies that we baked,
and the trips that I shall always embrace.

You taught me how to Embroidery,
it was such a fun task, it added
beauty that would last.

At bedtime your sheets
smelled so sweet, going to bed was
a treat your love was so true and deep.

You taught me how to pray
and give thanks to God for each new day.

When I needed someone to talk
to you were always there to understand
with loving care.

Grandmother you've shared so
much wisdom with me, I hope
I can do for others what you have
done for me.
