Oh! What A Dream!

I dreamed of dancing daffodils
Of brooks and streams and windswept hills
As tumbleweeds went bounding by
I saw the rain clouds paint the sky
With colors not of pastel hue
But, as smoky black from chimney flue.
Hurriedly, I rushed to gain
Shelter from oncoming rain
My legs and feet in dreams lay still
I could not move, 'twas not their will
I tried and tried with all my might
I vowed to not give up the fight
The storm clouds grew; then lightning came
-- And, now, my body ached with pain!
A thunderbolt like cannon roar
Awakened me from reverie
And, Knocked Me Flat upon the floor!
