Below the surface of the sea

An ancient forest grows

Shafts of light from the brilliant sun

Illuminate what lies below

Khaki-colored kelp sway with grace

Like palm trees in the breeze

Vibrant urchins quiver and dance

With ruffled algae the color of spring

Fish fly through the water

As birds fly through the sky

Whales sing their plaintive song

While dolphins romp nearby

The octopus with it’s sticky arms

Glides smoothly through the kelp

Spiny crabs and lobsters crawl

Surrounded by their shells

This magical forest

Brimming with life

The tides that ebb and flow

Enlightens us of our connection

As above and so below
